\u201cCompanies get Talents\u201d is a project that helps young talents become attractive for small and big companies.<\/p>\n
THE IDEA<\/b><\/p>\n
Nowadays everybody speaks of youth unemployment as one of the major problems of our country and of Europe in general. Everybody speaks of it, but who is doing something to solve the problem? To judge from present trends nobody or very few people.<\/p>\n
In order to finally do something useful and effective a group of professionals of North East Italy, all persons particularly sensitive to social problems, have made the decision to start a project with some entrepreneurs who share the same attention to the problems of our society and in particular to the problems of our youth.<\/p>\n
In the sixties and in the seventies a young graduate learned his trade on the job, normally in a big company that invested time and money in training and competence building. But since 1980 a large number of new SMEs have been set up in our area and these companies are not in a position to make the necessary investments in their human resources.<\/p>\n
The main objective of the TFC project is to help a group of young graduates acquire qualified and advanced competences that would make them particularly attractive in the labour market. In order to do that we plan to use a method similar to that used by big companies in the past, a method based on both practical experience and methodological training.<\/p>\n
Practical experience means participating in meaningful projects inside qualified companies; methodological training means participation in training sessions given by expert consultants and teachers.<\/p>\n
The details of our method are described below.<\/p>\n
COMPANY- BASED PROJECTS<\/b><\/p>\n
Quite often in our country internships are rather insignificant experiences that have little influence on a graduate\u2019s professional growth. In our project they are of basic importance.<\/p>\n
In order to make them effective we intend to apply the following principles:<\/p>\n
– The young graduate must be assigned to a significant project of organizational improvement that allows him or her to learn advanced methods and tools, to face complex problems and to get familiar with group work dynamics.<\/p>\n
– The young person must be supported and guided by an internal tutor and an outside professional and must work with the company for at least six months.<\/p>\n
The outside tutor will help the graduate both during his stay in the company and during the training sessions. More specifically he has to:<\/p>\n
– meet periodically with the graduate<\/p>\n
– provide him or her the advice needed<\/p>\n
– monitor the progress made<\/p>\n
– give a final evaluation of the results achieved.<\/p>\n
TRAINING SESSIONS<\/b><\/p>\n
In a market that is becoming more and more global, companies must be particularly sensitive to the following four aspects.<\/p>\n
1) The \u201cLean\u201d approach. The company must become an excellent and efficient organization capable to eliminate all kind of waste and to understand and meet its customers\u2019 needs in terms of products and services.<\/p>\n
2) Environmental sustainability. Saving resources and eliminating emissions is not only a social duty and an obligation toward future generations, but also a business opportunity. A sustainable company can successfully approach the wider and wider market of those people who are environmentally conscious.<\/p>\n
3) The \u201cIntercultural\u201d approach. The ever growing flow of people that move from one country to another can and must create new opportunities for those companies who can profit from the cultural fusion among people from different countries and cultures.<\/p>\n
4) The \u201cSocial responsibility\u201d model. Companies can and must be agents of social progress and welfare, not capitalists that exploit the masses for the benefit of the few.<\/p>\n
Our training activity aims at exposing our graduates to all the four aspectsmentioned above so as to teach them not only the most advanced methods, but to help them develop a new business culture that enables them to face the challenges of globalization.<\/p>\n
THE PROTAGONISTS<\/b><\/p>\n
The young graduates will be selected by a Commission of expert professionals and will be supported by two categories of persons:<\/p>\n
–\u00a0Professionals<\/b>\u00a0(Consultants, Managers, ex Managers), willing to communicate their experience to young people and to help them enter into the working world<\/p>\n
–\u00a0Companies<\/b>\u00a0sensitive to social problems and in particular to the problem of youth unemployment.<\/p>\n
The Commission will perform the following tasks:<\/p>\n
– Select the graduates<\/p>\n
– Select the companies<\/p>\n
– Monitor the progress of the whole project<\/p>\n
– Provide a final evaluation of the results achieved by each graduate, after receiving the tutor\u2019s report.<\/p>\n
Because of the high social value of the project all the professionals will provide their services pro bono.<\/p>\n
Companies will grant a sum of 500 Euros a month to each graduate.<\/p>\n

For Graduates<\/b>:<\/p>\n
– Receiving a qualified training on the most advanced management methods and a practical training inside a company thus acquiring a competence that will make it much easier to find a suitable job in the same or in a different company.<\/p>\n
– Becoming part of a project that enables them to start understanding the typical problems of a company.<\/p>\n
